The most important thing when you setup online business or all businesses is to make a detailed plan. Plans for all the expenses, the activities involved, the strategies that you will be doing in your business and other constructive factors. If you do this, it will keep you motivated throughout your business from start to end - a successful way on top!

A Frugal Lifestyle

The word “frugality” has left a more negative connotation for most people than simply being a saver, a cheapskate or tightwad. There is a thin line difference to saving and too much frugality to the point of being awkward and ridiculous. This is where the negative connotation comes from.
But if you are guided with the right principles and reasons in deciding to live a frugal life, you would never go wrong.
If you have decided to live frugally, no need to be worried of insults. Keep your head up high. And keep your focus through these tips.

1. Eating Out - Having gimmicks with friends on a Friday night is fine if you do it once in a while. But this can be expensive if you add them up at the end of the month.

2. Clothing - Naturally, if you are the kind of person who adores signature and designer clothes, do not expect that there will be something left of your take home pay. Instead of being trendy, wear clothes that can easily be matched with your other clothes.

3. Own Home - If you are planning to move out and find a place to settle, do not be overwhelmed by the excitement, instead be practical. As a start, buy a smaller house or try other ways like rent-to-own, do-it-yourself arrangements, and owner financing.

4. Buying Your Own Car - Shy away from sports cars or SUVs. Just stick to your purpose of buying a car which is to transport you anywhere you need to go. Check out also program cars like a new car warranty. Maybe this is not just the best time to replace your car with a new one.

5. Shopping for Groceries - As much as possible do not go with items that are branded. Choose non-brands and try looking for items on the highest or lowest shelves for best prices. Grab the opportunity and shop during sales or use coupons.

6. Family Out - There are inexpensive ways to bond with your family and be entertained like going to libraries, local parks, malling, picnics, visit friends and local church.

7. Buying School Supplies - Stock school supplies at home and do not buy anything fancy.

8. Be contented with what you have and try to live within what you earn.

9. Plan your Child’s College Education - Teach them the ways to be independent and self-supporting by encouraging them to apply for scholarships and “on campus jobs”.

10. Be Aware of your Financial Limitations

11. Anticipate your Failures by Planning - Have always a budget plan so you would avoid impulsive buying.

Pay Yourself First!

Yeah yeah...the same old topic...but i just cant emphasize more the important of paying yourself first...this is the basic...the foundation...the first step of managing your personal finance...you can find a lots of personal finance books saying how important this matter is...it doesnt matter if u r working in high paying jobs or just 'cukup2 makan'...wat ever u do, pay yourself first...

But many people cant commit themselves to put aside a part of their income into their personal saving...why? i dunno...maybe they have a lot of commitments...maybe they are just lazy to go to the bank every month to deposit their money...or maybe they r living in the 'red line' ( spending all of their money and then some) ...

Actually to do this step is not really difficult..it is really simple if u know how...first u must identify how much money u want to save...ideally it should be 10% of ur bring back money (u can always increase the amount over time depending on your flexibility...more pay, more saving )...then u go to the bank and request for autodebit service...ask the bank to deduct the decided amount and put it into an account that u cannot easily access ( i prefer ASB for malays)...if u are working for a company, ask ur HR division if they have this facility...once u've done this step...forget about the money u already save and live on with what u have left...tell ur self that the balance of money is the total money u have to be spend on other things...by doing this, u are always living below ur mean....

Thats all u have to do to pay urself first...easy right? it is all automatic...no more hassle of going to the bank and no more excuses of not saving anymore...

gud luck!

Credit Card - Good or Evil?

I started working as an executive in one of the blue chip company in malaysia around 2002...after working for about 6 months, i applied for a credit card and since then ive been using it..

some people say credit card is bad...stay away from it..it is evil...it can make ur life miserable etc etc...why? because credit card offer the convineance for its user to commit to bad debt...n i mean ' a lot' of bad debts...well, at some extent i do agree with those statements...but i believe credit card is just a mere tool...u dont like or dislike a tool...u use tool to make ur life easier...am i right?

for me, my credit card offer tremendous convineance especially during outstation because i can book a hotel room without having to pay for the deposit...just swipe the card n ull receive ur room key...the cash that i have can be use for more important things...

Wat is important in handling a credit card is self discipline...for my usage, i rarely need more than rm1000 per month charge to my credit card...n i clear my credit card every month...no bring forward charges...so im safe n still enjoying the convineance of a credit card...

BUT if u dont think u have the will power and self discipline to handle credit card, run as fast as u could whenever a credit card salesperson approach u... ;)

Microsoft Money 2004

Ive been using this software for about 2 years already and it really help me alot to track my financial record...all u need to do for a start is to make it a habit to spend just around 10 minutes a day in front of ur pc and record all ur expenses u incured on that particular day...thats all..and the software will do the rest ( like producing nice report for reference)...

it might take some while to familiarize with the software but once u got the idea, everything is easy...

the only problem that i can imagine is developing the habit to track ur expenses...thats all...but believe me, if u cant still instill the habit to track ur expenditure, ull gonna face difficulties to increase ur wealth...just imagine a company without financial record... ;)
